Enable Metro Apps for Netbook's 1024X600 limitation
After installing Windows 8 on my Acer Aspire one, Metro Apps did not work because of netbook's screen size limitation. Fortunately, found a work around for it.
1. Press "Win"+R on the keyboard to open "Run"
2. Write "regedit" and press "ok".
3. In the registry editor navigate to:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\"
4. In here you will find several keys that look like this:
"{33FB2936-74CD-4441-B5CB-C89649041C84}
Inside SOME of those keys you will find keys named 0000 and 0001
5. Inside each key called 0000 and 0001, find the entry called "Display1_DownScalingSupported", change that value from 0 to 1.
or just do a search for "Display1_DownScalingSupported" and change that value from 0 to 1.
6. Restart your computer
7. Now you can change your resolution to 1024x768, and the metro apps should now work!

When switched to 1024*768 the screen looks really bad.
返信削除This is because Acer Aspire one does not really support 1024 X 768 and it just emulates it having that resolution.
